Default Found a 1992 SSEI near me 4 sale $1600

Should I buy this car (series 1 L67) and mod it or continue with my 99 (L36), I want to know if with mods does the supercharger on the series 1 L67 have an advantage over the L36 modded. Also ive come to learn that the L36 is very reliable is the S1 L67 reliable (modded) as well. Its a nice looking car and it catches my eye everytime I drive by it, it has about 90K on it. Please express your opinions!

I would say it all depends on how you feel about your 99, are you happy with it performance or visually?
If you like the 92'* look better (which i do) and want a car with similar un-modded HP and more torque, then yeah id say go for the 92 Ei.
IMO i think the the S1 L67 is a reliable motor stock or modded but it all comes down to how you treat things, only concern with a modded L67 would be the stock tranny.

there you go i expressed my Opinion

Buy the 92

Hows the aftermarket for the S1 L67'*? It seems that for those of you guys who have 'em that you got quite a few mods I browse around some on the internet and dont find much, Im guessing performance stuff for these motors are well hidden?!? :?

Hmm, have you looked this car over pretty well? I must say, that'* quite a low price for an SSEi, and the semi-low mileage worries me. I've been looking at this 98 SSEi with 66k miles for quite a while, and just when I was about to apply for a loan, my dad got a carfax account. So, I ran it through, and what did I find? It had a rebuilt title. When I got into it more, I found out that it had been sitting for 3 years. So, not to worry you, but just double check it.

I was in the same boat as you back in March. I bought a 92 SSEi from a seller here, and we kept our 99 at the same time. The intention was for me to drive the 92 daily and my wife to drive the 99 daily.

I honestly liked our 99 more. Even though it had 2.5 times more miles (60K on the 92, 150K on the 99), I just liked the NA 99 a lot more. I guess it felt like home to me...whereas the 92 didn't. Plus, I'm not into the extra frills the SSEi offered. For a daily driver, I just wanted transportation...and that'* what our 99 does very reliably! In the end, we sold the 92 shortly after we bought it.

I havent actually looked at it in real detail but I do know that it has been for sale for a long time since last winter and it started out at $3000.
