I think the dog carried it off. If it helps, it'* a small dog that was dragging the stick in a similar manner as the car was.

Just like the car, huh? You mean the stick was caught on the dog'* underside without its knowledge, and was dragging along the pavement as the dog ran down the road??? Now *that* I'd like to have seen....

It might have been Buford Pusser'* stick. The Rock may have lost it going down the road and your fiance may have found it. There could be a reward for it.

Instead of hanging from the middle of the dog, the stick was hanging from its mouth.
