Aren't other models getting the GXP trim though? How will people differentiate WHICH GXP it is without a model? It'* almost like Pontiac is trying to market the trim instead of the car.

they are just saving airtime by covering alot of cars by saying GXP. I agree that the demo. for the bonnies is much older and those old farts probably have more exposure to cars, they know whats out there.

Thats not true...although the 2000'* are the least badged, it does read Bonneville on the top of the drivers side headlight. The 2001+ say Bonneville on the rear bumper along with on the headlight. The SE'* say it on the trunklid.

Up to 2002 the 00+ SSEi'* are easily differentiated, by just looking at the rear of the car. The Early 2000'* have the squarish exhaust tips, no onstar antenna, and no Bonneville on the rear bumper. The late 2000'* are the same, but with the onstar antenna on the rear window. The 2001'* are the same as the late 2000'*, but with Bonneville printed on the left side of the rear bumper. The 2002'* are the same as the 2001'* but with the oval exhaust tips instead of the squarish ones. After that I haven't seen enough to be able to tell you the difference. I'm not sure if it was 2002 or 2003 when the SSEi badge was changed to the slanted one...don't remember. If it was 2003 then that is how you tell the difference there, but for some reason I'm thinking it was 2002. Anyways, thought that might be useful to someone eventually.

Maybe one of the reasons Pontiac is almost leaving Bonneville by the wayside and promoting the other cars in their lines is because of the underlying age of the Bonnie. Sure, it'* been substantially upgraded and improved upon ( Which can't be said for the current Ford Mustang, at least with the 'improved' part ), but it still has that venerable old 3.8L V6 in it, except for the GXP, that is =p, and, correct me if I'm wrong, the basic underpinnings aren't much changed since the late 80'*-early 90'*. I love the Bonnies, their great cars, but I think Pontiac needs to show their FLAGSHIP SEDAN (they should remember that!) a little more love than they have recently and give it the kind of upgrades it needs to fight with the Dodge 300C and next-gen Ford ubersedan (whenever that things comes out...) That Northstar is a step in the right direction, but it needs more. SSEis with V8s, anyone? That GXP with a Vette 5.7, furthermore? Some bad-***, state-of-the-art RWD tech? Sounds like the makins of a legend Just a crazy opinion, but one with possible merit when confronting the venerable 300C. I don't know about you guys, but wouldn't a car comparo in a major autommotive magazine with the Bonneville trumping a 300C just make you giggle like a little girl? It would for me Again, just an idea...

Well, Dodge is starting to push the SRT line more, too. Neon SRT-4, and now the upcoming 300C SRT-8.
