If you want the best oil filter for your engine, use Hastings. They build all their oil filters to military specs and they have the best filtration media of any oil filter in the market. Hastings also manufactures the oil filters for Amsoil.

The other internal parts look the same to me, for example both filters use a coil spring and not a clicker for the bypass valve. The Amsoil filters may also use a thicker canister, but I haven't cut one open yet to find out.
Also If you look at SAE H806 oil filter test data for the Hastings filters and i don't
have it at the moment
