I turned the honker & falsher off on my rig. Don't need it. I like the perimeter lighting feature at night though, that'* kind of cool.

My options:
Lock: Honk/Flash, Flash only, no feedback
Unlock: Flash or nothing.
I use the flashers only. The horn was waking up the neighbors, who are right above my garage in the building.
I also can select central unlock or driver'* only and it work'* with the remote. If I don't select central unlock, I can still unlock all four by hitting the remote button twice.
And I can even select whether my window lock affects all pass. windows, or just the rears.
On top of all that, I can deicide whether my seat automatically goes to the memory setting for the corresponding key fob when I unlock it with the remote.
And it all comes up on a nice little menu in the DIC.

My 97 SE did not come with keyless entry.
But when I got it, I had an aftermarket Clifford alarm installed.
And the shop said they hooked it into the factory keyless entry system.
Which I don't have.
There'* an RPO code for keyless entry, and mine doesn't have it.

But you gotta figure, the electric door locks and trunk release are all there?
Maybe? I think? I really don't know what exactly constitutes having the keyless
entry system or not. I don't get it.

The aftermarket installer told me that they all come with keyless entry, and that
your dealer either sells you the key fob to go with it, or they don't. I don't know if
that'* true or not.

When they installed my aftermarket Clifford alarm, a kid that worked there
hopped on his Honda crotch-rocket and drove down the street to the Pontiac
dealership nearby, and came back with a Xerox of the schematic for the
keyless entry system. Then he wired up the alarm.

My lights and driving lights flash, and the alarm chirps. If I press different
buttons on my Clifford key fob, I can operate it silently without the chirps.

My Clifford key fob can also remotely open the trunk and can also put the alarm
into valet-mode when I have my car in the shop so the alarm part is off but the
door locks all still work.

My wife'* `01 Grand Prix has factory keyless entry with the key fob, and her horn
toots and her lights flash.

All the releases/locks are standard. The only things that you wouldn't have is the receiver, antenna, and brain. If you went to the junkyard and got those, you could probabaly plug it right in.

Bugs My assumption on that one would be that they meant you have power locks and power trunk release. They merely tapped in to both systems. In the end..it'* all good.
