from what I have experienced through my eyesight from my friends vehicles, one of them have been smoking a lot in the car and made there tint turned purple, the other, his car never sees any shade because his car is parked in the back of his house and doesn't have a garage. His tinted turned puple and actually bubbled up and what makes it so bad is that they both went to a place that specialized in tint, not the do it yourself at Murray'*.
Smoking causes it to go purple?
I never heard of that.. unless he tried to clean it with something that'* not meant to.. now if he cleans his front windshield.. he'll see a brownish stain left from smokes.. so brown and tint don't make purple does it?
when i bought my nissan truck it had some tint on it.....which was purple. i since then scraped all that crap off. the local glass shop around here said sun and cleaners cause the tint to fade to the purplish color that i had, and the scratches are from using certain types of rags and cloths to wipe the windows with.
There are many different kinds of tint. Any tint that turns purple and/or bubbles up was purchased at a store and most likely installed by the car owner. A professional tinting job (from 150$ to 250$) often comes with a lifetime guarantee never to bubble or discolor. It is very possible for tint to fade, whether on the windows or on the tailights.
