I noticed the incorrect spelling the day we bought our 1999 back in 2002. My wife and I used to laugh about it all the time.

It'* funny that we have two pages so far to discuss the two spellings of gauges.

For the dash light version, notice the size of the lamp space. If they had used "gauges" instead, they would have had to make the space large or the letters smaller.



And no, it doesn't annoy me. Mine is rarely on...

hmm. I have that light on constantly on my 00 HUD, and I have never noticed the misspelling....

Not necessarily. Look at how much space is consumed with the line containg "check oil". They could have afforded to use one more letter, IMO!

The spelling doesn't bother me. it'* when the guy I was designing tooling for told me like I was 9 "It'* G A G E, not G A U G E."
