Sounds good on the 9005-9006 swap. I checked out the link as well, seems like a very good solution. So I would then have 9005s in both sockets low and high, right. Problem with that is then I have no High beems to speak of.Because lows are then highs and when I flick to brights it wont get brighter will they? Christian

I've found really good results going with Silverstar Ultras. A little pricey, yes, but they DRASTICLY improved the light output of my wife'* GA. Results may vary in different applications, but if the PIAA'* in my SSE ever burn out (going on 5 years now), I'll probably replace them with Ultras.

As with any light source they will shift in there kelvin rating. New lights are shifter high(blue)(perhaps 20k) and as they age shift low(yellow)(perhaps 6.5k) The older they are the more yellow they will become. More yellow also meens dimmer.

No you have two different lens one for high beam and one for the low beam.
Park your car 15 to 20 feet from a wall and have your lights on low, you will see that
the beam of light will not be very high(2 to 3 feet) then turn the high beams on and the
light will be higher on the wall and it will shine farther down the road. There is a cut off
on the low beam lens so the light will not blind oncoming traffic. The down side of that is
that the light will not light up the road very far in front of your car. That is why when
you put the brighter light on your low side it lights up the road better than the stock
bulb but it WON'T light up the road as good as your high beam'* will.
I would get SilverStar Ultra'*

I didn't do the highbeam mod to mine, I just replaced them with a set of low and highbeams from Silverstar and it made a difference(9006,9005). At first I was going to do the highbeam mod on my lowbeams but now after seeing these I'm not.

Yeh good point, these things look fairly expensive.I was just poking around on e bay. Maybe what I'll do is just by the lows and wait on the highs & make sure their aimed correctly , it sounds like it should be plenty of light. I am going to check here locally for a price on them and continue to track the ebay prices and make a decision early this week, now that were in day light savings time I go to work in the dark and drive home in the dark.I have to improve this. Thanks Christian

We put our 9005'* in the low side over two years ago and i would never go back to the stock 9006'*. When i drive my truck(99 ford) the lights look dull compared to the SSEi,
i just love the light i got from this little mod, and as mod'* go it'* not much money for what you get.
