You can program your preferences with your remote. Check the owners manual. You can set it for no lights, no horn or no lights and only horn for either lock or unlock.

i set my brake in the ga everytime i park and it still flashes and honks, but then again only my parking lights flash on the ga so mabey its just a later ga thing

My 01 Camaro did that crap, only I didn't have a key fob. If I unlocked the drivers door I had 10 seconds before the "alarm" went off. If I unlocked the passenger side it went off immediately. Annoying as all hell.
