I heard this as well, but I also heard that with a larger filter the pressure drops, and mine isn't that high to begin with, so I stick with the stock size.....

just a myth!!!!,,,your pump is moving the same amount of oil,just through a bigger
can.

I do it just about every time. As long as my car is on a lift I do, if I cannot get on a lift (if the car is flat on the ground) I will do it dry so when I am fumbling around trying to get the filter on, I don't spill oil everywhere.

I was never taught to...

Out of hundreds of oil changes I've done..only 2 times has my vehicle gotten that treatment. I'm doing it now if I have the time.

Oil change places set you up dry though...
