Considering the rarity and value of these little suckers, in order to get one from me you will have to do the following:

1. Prove that you have a 40th by showing me a pic of your car, your VIN plate, and your RPO codes in the trunk.

2. Prove that you need one (show the damaged emblem).

Assuming you can satisfy both requirements, the Badge is yours, free of charge.

You need to add two requirements to that list:

3. Buy Bill a case of beer.

4. Kiss some butt.

No, but you can shear them off if you try hard enough. When I got my car the cover wasn't even clipped down at one end. I found out years later, when I had all that stuff apart to replace the A/C evaporator, that it was out of position because the goofball dealer mechanic who'd done a warranty repair on the last evaporator in 1994 (I know it was '94 because that was the date on the tax stamp of the pack of cigarettes he left inside the dash ) didn't route the cabling properly when he was putting the relay center back on. So he stuck the cover back on as best he could and only managed to get one end clipped down.

I got it all straightened out when I did it (and I didn't leave out a whole bunch of parts like he did, either!)

Those twist-lock fasterners actually get a little worn, and pop out when you lossen them. Over the last year, I've managed to lose both. The cover still stays put, just not quite right. I managed to get both replacments I needed, and a spare for good measure today.

Has to be an official 40th Anniversary car?
Can't just be a 97? Which is still "technically" the 40th anniversary year of the Bonneville..... hehe

The 97 is what you need.....and it was damaged front, rear, and drivers. Broke the window, been exposed to the elements. Door panel was NASTY....but the right color.
