A lot of police work is just cruising around town waiting, so almost any car could be used as a patrol car. Makes a lot of sense, too, if you think about it. Everyone is used to looking for a certain type of car to identify the cops. Slip in a few oddballs for special jobs (speed traps, narcotics, etc) and the morons won't be as likely to get tipped off....

Texas does have alot of cool cop cars. I used to get pulled over alot on my way to Dallas by the Black and white/brown camaroes. I got a lot of noise violations in Austin also. They had a few older fox body mustangs.

in the town over from me.. northport, way to many cops with absolutly nothing to do. but they have alota undercover (unmarked on the outside) alota montecarlos, magnums, f150, full size suvs (both ford and chevy) and they even have a nice nice nice honda civic riceburner edition... they use it to try and catch ppl street racing on the highway. but then on top all that they still have there like 50 marked cop cars. but load of magnums and chargers and crown vics and impalas and f150 and sporttracks.. but like i said they have to pay for all them cars some how... so if ya goin down 75 south in fla dont speed while in north port cause you WILL get a ticket... not like anything else happens here maybe and old guy will fall or the old guy locked his keys in the car.. the rest the time they are sittin on the side of the freeway or they are at applebees.. and thats a whole nother story... (at any tie you will find at least 5 cops sittin in there. (on duty) yep thats some good tax money hard at work there... oh ya and btw they are suposta hire like 15 more cops in the next yr.... WTF... talk about a sit on ya butt job there.. or in there case sit at applebees and get paid.. but ya i would like to get my hands on a PI version of a 2k+ bville...
