my recommendation for the 255 width would be these.

For the stock size, I HIGHLY recommend these
Based on what?

If he wants summer tires the GY TT aren't fitting that bill, the Pilot Sport AS are closer, but still not it.

True summer tires? You're looking at BFG G-force KDW'*, Goodyear GS D3'* (AWESOME) not to mention a few Falkens, Kuhmo Ecstas, etc...

Thank you for all of the replies.

I do read the customer reviews and try to filter out the information by reading a lot of the reviews. Example, if there are 10 reviews and 7 say the sidewalls are not firm and the tire is sloppy in turns then I will skip over the tire.

Currently I am looking at these tires trying to find a deal on the local Craigslist. I will need to get tires in 10K or less miles so it does not hurt to look for deals now.

Current first choice:

Second choice:
http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....Eagle+F1+GS-D3

Third choice:
http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....del=PZero+Nero

If money was no problem and I upgraded to 18' rims i would try a set of these.

Oh well I would have recommended the Potenzas hands down, but they don't come in the size you mentioned, so I ruled them out. So you basically don't care how far off your speedometer is?

And sorry about the last post, I forgot he said summer.

Heck, even the A/* Pole Positions are really good, but for a summer one, those summer potenzas are hard to beat.

I do care about the speedometer reading and I use a calculator to compare speeds. When you get into the higher performance tires it is hard to find an aspect ratio over 45. I would prefer 55 because of the ride quality and a less chance of a pothole doing damage to the rim but I have to go with what is made by the tire company.

There are quite a few members running the Bridgestone’* and the tire comes highly rated.

The reviews on the Pirelli looked good with decent light snow performance.

I have always used Goodyear’* up till two years ago when I put a set of Yokohama'* on my *-10 and was surprised at the performance. I currently run Yokohama’* on the family van as well. I still think the Goodyear’* are an excellent choice.

What is nice about the BC is the ability to find out how a particular tire performs on our cars.
