L.E.D'* are good just gotta choose between the two. One LED gives off a narrow beam spread, the other has a wider beam spread. Ill try and find the link for it.

leds in the turn signals cause a problem with the lamp monitor. a little modification is needed.....something like a variable load blinker or something like that

Yea, someone here found this info a while back and had links and all there. Maybe someone who has them installed can chime in.

I saw it on ls1.com I think. Except the one I saw was on how to make the firebird front plate light up. I thik it would be nice if we could design the pontiac symbol inside of the turn signals.

The lamp monitor may eventually adapt to an LED turn-signal bulb (the "A" in the ALM processor stands for Adaptive Lamp Monitor) but the bulb'* beam spread needs to be wide, not just straight out the front, or the lamp reflector won't pick up the side output and bounce it forwards. Sticking cheap LED bulbs in the taillights in gives the same problem: this little blob of light surrounded by darkness.

As for an LED in the side marker, you may have a different problem there: Current flows both ways through the blinking side markers, depending on which circuit is hot: turn-signals or parking lights. The front side marker bulbs don't have a "hot" and a "ground" connection; they tap the turn-signal on one wire and the parking-light circuit on the other, straddling the two. That'* how the front side markers do double duty with the turn signals and with the parking lights: whichever circuit is not on at the time serves as the ground for the bulb. Pretty tricky, huh?

An LED may only allow current through one way, not both, so if you plug in an LED version of the 194 bulb, make sure it'* a dual polarity LED that can light up with positive current coming in either contact, not just one-way.
