Default Came home last night and this is what I saw...

1993 SSE in Red. She'* got high miles, but runs (when the starter works) and all the option, grey leather (worn drivers), AM/FM/CD (CD not working) sunroof, hud, etc has some surface rust on the rear quarters and the rear bumper is toast, but she still has a life in her.

here is a picture I took today. Anyone see something special about her??

Looks like you already have it on the hoist for easy access to the starter.
That is sweet. I love the red SSE/SSEi'*.

Yep, you are all correct: SSE SC. It is probably going to get parted unless someone wants to purchase it before hand. My dad found it in the paper. She could clean up, but it might be more work that I want to put into it. It would need to be sanded down to remove the surface rust before it goes through. If I can come into some money in the next couple weeks, I might try undertaking that task myself, but having 2 non-running Bonnevilles isn't really my plan. Right now looking at it, it has about $600 worth of parts I could use for my SSEi, and then the rest of the parts I could sell. If people would like to donate to the "Keep the 93 SSE SC Alive" fund, Donations will be accepted

I still have to see where things go with it. My dad just kinda bought it unexpectedly (he told me about it and I told him what it would be worth to me) and I got surprised by it when I got home.

Couple questions:
Are the starters the same on all models SE,SSE,SSEi?
how hard is it to repair the CD portion of the radio?
How hard is do-it-yourself rust repair? (no paint, just primer and a coat of flat black or red for now)
Where would water be entering the trunk?
Where can I get 2 SSE/SSEi rear bumpers and driver and passenger door plastic molding pieces?

thanks

Where is the water comming in on the trunk? Rear window seal is a good possibility.

If the gear ratio is 2.97 on the SSE (and it should be) the starters are the same. Check the RPO'*.

Repair the radio? Try a 'cleaning cd' kit. If that doesn't do it, don't bother.

Rust repair? Kill it all right away, or don't try to cover it. You'll get 30 days with a half-baked attempt.

Wrecker for the pieces you need. From any 92-95 SSE or SSEi.

check the rear taillights for the leak, I bet a bolt is broken on one of them causing water to seep in between the gasket and into the trunk....I found mine leaking this way the hard way (me IN the trunk with the trunk closed and a flashlight and someone else with a hose wettin her down)
