I think the problem with the 4.0 is that there might not be a large demand for a unit as such? :?

I know that is the problem. There is a young girl driving a black Aurora around here. I think its her parents' car though, I gotta get her name. Anyway the other problem is the transmission. It would need a bulletproofed 4T80-E. My tranny with 84k seems to be pretty damn good for its age and considering how hard i have driven it. Its already kind of bulletproof, but exceeding its gearbox torque capacity means impending doom. No doubt though, if you drove it really light i bet the thing would hold out a little bit.

For the last 7k i have owned this car (bought July 16 04), I have driven the balls off it. I do not "floor" it off the light all the time, usually just hit the end of the gas pedal so you get a little wheelspin and it switches gears at 4500rpm, what i call the "sweet spot" hehe. I love that moan it makes at that speed when it switches gears, just pure bliss. But i always floor the gas every trip i make at some point for only 3 or 4 seconds. It needs to be faster, thats the problem. Bigger is always better.

Can't blame you for liking that roar. Ive only test drove two Auroras. a 96 and an 02, loved em both, the 96 leaked oil BAD, and the 02 sold before i could get back to it.
