red baron, i was in no way implying bs, i was refering to other posts, made by other people. about the rear skirts, i was just trying to see if i could help to narrow down what year it was, thats all. and the pos i drove WAS a nice car, so im not calling your car a pos or anything like that, thats why i asked if you wanted to trade! sorry about the mix ups
92 trofeo, here'* the low down on northstar powered cars
92 was its first year, in the allante
93, eldorado ETC and seville STS got the 295hp/290tq northstar, base models kept the 200hp/280tq 4.9
94, eldorado/base models get the 270hp/300tq version of the northstar, less hp but a much flatter response curves and more torque (3.11 gears) the STS and ETC get the 295 hp version with 3.71 gears New style for the deville, concours edition gets the 270hp version
95 plastic intake manifold bumps up power to 275hp/300tq for SLS/ESC/CONCOURS, 300hp/295tq for sts/etc, Eldorado gets updated styling
96 new interiors for eldo/seville. deville concours gets the 300hp, base 275hp instead of 200hp 4.9
if you look at the dyno graphs and specs, the base 275hp 300tq motor is a stronger motor than the 300hp one, but the base always got weak gearing. untill the GXP, gets the 275hp motor w/ 3.71 gears, best combo, according to pointiac, 0-60 in 6.5, no word on 1/4 yet

old friend of the family has a 88 allante, and he was all into allante history and crap, told me the allante was the first car to get the northstar. must not have meant a year before the seville and eldo, but the last time i talked to him was at my graduation party about a year and half ago. He said he never liked them, cause to offer a more expensive engine, they went cheaper on the rest of the car. maybe it was a early 93 model
eldo still didn't have 275hp in 93
how long did it take you to find those pics??

The new GXP will be as fast as my lightly modded SSEi and I'm sure it won't take much modding to get the GXP to well over 300 hp except if I know the General he won't make it easy.
The PCM probably has "mod management".
etc got 295.
ever see that twin northstar eldorado they made? 2 northstars, 1 in the trunk for awd. it would be pretty sweet if they didtn't have to move the rear axel waaay back to make it work, looks funny. not a gm thing, it was independant.
i like the cadillacs, but inmo they where always a step behind oldsmobile'* aurora. aurora'* styling was always fresher. interior was always like better/ newer looking. frame was used in the olds first. only advantage of a cadillac is that gm decided that the engine oldsmobile made should go in the cadillac, and oldsmobile should get a smaller version, damn brand management.

Yes I saw the conversion... weird..
"the engine oldsmobile made" oldsmobile didnt get northstar till 95 and it was the 4.0...
The aroura doesnt do it for me... If I where to go 4 door, I would atleast get something bigger STS/SLS/DHS/DTS
Even people who basturdize cadillacs cant be origonal...

atleast oldsmobile did this to there own product...
tobad the people who made this one, couldnt have done what oldsmobile engineers did... they just turned the the whole essembly around so I could comfortably sit in the back, and still give power to the vechile... this was was just stupied because they spent money they didnt have too on body fabrication, not to mension it looks ugly..

whyed they put mesh on the back of the trunk? its got an air box anyway.. unless there driving backwards its not going to do any 'engine cooling' but its better then putting big holes in the fenders... OH WAIT.. They did do that :?
on the whold cadillac basturdization topic... Retarded people with money should be shot

the aurora was supposed to be a 94 model. the car was done and being tested in 93 by car magazines.
cadillac raided the parts bin for the STS/ETC when it first started out, when they made them in 92, all they had to do for 93 was adapt them for a northstar, olds still had a car to finish designing. olds made the quad 4, the northstar decendant. they started the original "quad 8" concept, which they eventually evolved into the northstar. i only like some aurora'*, they definatly have to be the right color w/tint.
test drive a 95 aurora, than a 95 sts, you'll see why i like the aurora more. cadillac only wins in power, the interior is just so beautiful in a aurora, drives sooo nice. cadillac'* didn't ride this nice till 98, and there interiors still don't look as good, but they've gotten better in the new ones, even in 96 when cadillac updated the interiors, they're still pretty generic

thats phil'* cadillac! i don't agree with the body kit, but he'* crazy, i think he'* up to 150 shot of NOS now. he told me he blew his intake manifold shooting almost from a start-------THATS retarded. i don't know alot about nitrous, but i know thats a no no
maybe it still ran hot without the mesh? that should help the flow, its gotta have a easy way out, but the again, there should be a hole in the floor....hmmmm
