General GM Chat When starting new posts, please specify YEAR, MAKE, MODEL, ENGINE type, and whatever modifications you have made. Chat about all things GM (and related cars). Off-topic stuff should be in the Lounge, and all Model specific mechanical problems should be posted in the proper forum.

Bye bye body style...

I just read that all 05 trims start with a G. So, it'* not an SLE you saw, it'* a GLE. The SE is now the GTL.

In the next few years, the Bonneville may become G8.

Saw it again today, Badging, and the Poncho Website say SLE and SE.

I stopped by yesterday, neglected to have my camera though. It is a 2005 SLE. Looks exactly like the GXP as far as body design goes. And just to prove I'm not crazy, its all the way at the end of the lot in the corner next to a white Pontiac Vibe. Both the window sticker and the year sticker on the Bon say 2005, and if you check out www.pontiac.com, they already have the 2005 vehicle list up.

Actually the G6 will be the Bonneville replacement....AHHHHHH NO MORE BONNEVILLE!!!!!!!!.......what the heck are they gonna call this forum in 10 years G6club.com.....NO!!!!!

Oh well it does look like things are moving in the right direction for Pontiac.....in order to compete you must sometimes change your entire image, and with it go the names...Grand Am is gone too....(not a huge loss LOL)

Where'd you get this from? Replacing a car ABOVE the still-existing Grand Prix with a car BELOW it - a Grand Am equivalent? :?: :?: :?

Sorry G6=Grand Am replacement.......G4 Sunfire replacement.......G8 Bonneville replacement....no word on Grand Prix replacement as of yet.......this is still up in the air, but once a car company starts changing things like the names from a meeningfull word to a jumbled up series of letters and numbers it ussually doesnt stop with the first car......G8Club.com....I still think not

Example Acura Legend......Acura 3.5RL.....huh?
Acura Integra........Acura RSX....what?
Landrover Discovery.....Landrover LR3...what the?
then there is the opposite in the Pontiac J2000 (??) Pontiac Sunbird....ahhh

So we will have J2000...turned Sunbird turned Sunfire turned G4
and so it starts again
