Bye bye body style...
I read that today at Barnes and Noble. If you look in the upper right hand corner it says New for 2005. They are flaunting GLS and GTL as if Pontiac has already released them. I'm guessing its a misprint since Pontiac is saying nothing about it and all other 2005 car magazines have SE,SLE,GXP. And it doesn't make sense that Pontiac would release the GXP style with the badge SLE if they are going to re-badge them.

and the NStar is also a heavier engine, and is ALOT harder to modify...(ask the Rora guys) than the L67....the last test I saw on a new GXP said it was running 15.4s in the 1/4 mile....my 95 SSEi with 115000 miles (and a few mods) can run that!...I like em cause they are SEXY and the rims are friggin tight....but I wish they wouldnt have taken out our beloved L67....just should have put in the SER3 version outta the CompG and put a smaller pulley and freer flowing exhaust on it....viola 275+ hp and over 300 lbs tq.......and still moddable!!!! MWHAHAHAHAHA
Yes 00-04, thanks for that correction. The supercharged engine was nice, theres no denying it. That 3800 in general is one of the finest the general ever made. The problem with putting the 260 hp version out of the new GPs is your tranny. If you look at track times, they really havn't improved over the 240 hp versions of ole. The reason? The transmissons cant take the extra 20 hp, so they had to delay and soften the shift points. I believe this was mentioned in GMHTP the June or July Issue of this year. Once again though, correct me if I am wrong. I am going on the assumption that the GPs and Bonne'* have the same transmission.

EDIT: By the way. With the Nstar, you don't have to worry about the invincable 3800 aftermarket exhaust rasp. Put a set of Magnaflows on the GXP and have a nice mellow, freer flowing exhaust. I do agreethough, the 3800 was much easier to work on, it really is an engineering marvel on how they stuffed that sucker in there.
