I guess I am a bit late on this one. I tried something similar on my 90 SSE and I could barely see a difference. We didn't bother changing the other side since the first one did nothing.

the backup lenses can melt, i got some halogen backup lamps and im never in reverse for too long, and the lanses have distorted a little, not really messed up but just got a little misshappen

I know I'm a little late on this, but just wanted to say that it DOES seem like false advertising to me. 50 times brighter? I think not.

being the LED god you are Haro, I"m surprised you didn't think about that route.. check these out:

this rora has all LED lighting in the rear. I like the look. You also don't have to worry about LED"* getting to hot either.

you are VERY wrong on that. Not to make you feel bad, but higher power LEDs have HUGE heat dissipation issues.
