Brake Job issues
Hey guys. I really like the forum, although I have been lurking for a long time. Anyways I have come up with a question
Car is a 1995 Bonneville. I recently did a brake job and got lazy with the rears. The pads had tons of meat on them so I decided to just replace the drums. I adjusted the star wheel while I was in there. Pedal engaged sooner as did the parking brake. Anyways when I was all done I still have this horrible wobble from the rear. Wheel bearings feel good and I know it is from the rear by using the parking brake. I am trying to wrap my head around how the shoe could cause wobble? Maybe a high spot and what I feel is chatter?
Maybe I just got bad drums (I did buy the cheapies)
Do you guys think not replacing the shoe could cause wobble?

You can test for out of round drums by jacking up rear wheels and rotate by hand. A smooth even drag of the brakes indicates a good drum. An uneven, pulsing drag indicates a bad drum.
If you're real tight for cash, drums can be turned at an automotive machine shop. I have no idea what that costs these days. Back in the 1970'* it used to cost $10 each.
Warped disk brake rotors can NEVER be turned, as the entire mass goes out of alignment and they will quickly re-warp.
