Default Which Bonnie to Buy?

Its friday night, and tomorrow morning im gonna go drive a 93 SSEi white with 125,000 miles, and also a 92 SE with 132,000 miles. The SSEi is a lil under $4k while the SE is $2500. I have to talk my parents into this and the SSEi is definetly the one i want. Other then that there is a 92 SSE for $2800 through a private seller but 167,000 miles. Anyone got any opinions? Is it worth the $1000+ for the supercharger? To me it is but i dunno ifi can get my parents to bite. But it is my car so hopefully i'l have white SSEi before i know it! Not buying tomorrow definetly but doing some nice driving.

I had the same prob, i own a 93 SSEi, and it takes premium only and is not the best on gas, yet it is a very nice car loaded with leather and all the goodies, mine has 150,000 miles on it and still going good, look into both, get some service records, go through each car well, make an offer, the supercharger is a very nice feature if it has been taken care of, its about 900 bucks to rebuild, its your call tho, SE and SSEi;* are very nice cars and whatever you choose I think u will like...the stock 3.8 has alot of power without the SC...but power is nice lol.

92 had no EGR, talk to DeathRat about potential problems you may encounter with that.
The 93 would be a nice ride, if you don't mind shelling out the extra $ for gas.
93 all the way(plus it'* boosted!).

Ever run your SSEi without Premium? What is it like then? What about Middle grade (91 octane here in MN). Middle grade in mankato is the same as the cheapest 89 or 87. I know you lose performance and knocking might occur but is it acceptable/fine/horrible/explodes on first fire? I don't mind the extra dollar or two on each fillup, its not like im gonna loose sleep over that. If i can get the supercharger im gettting it... no questions asked, but if my parents dont wanna go for the $4k car im stuck with either an SSE or SE, not complaining, i just want to say i have a blower and that extra jizz incase i find worthy compettion..

Hrm, how does it run on the other grades of gas. All gas stations in Mankato (my school town) have lower and middle grade same price. I really dont mind premium its only a buck or two more depending on prices usually.... How big is a bonneville tank anyways?

I ran my SSEi without premium and it got shtty gas mileage..thats about all i could recognize. SHITTY gas mileage.

91 octane is what is recommended. At the time of production that was the highest common grade of octone available. If your car has a supercharger is shouldnt very bad gas only a couple mpg less, but it depends on whether your a lead foot or not too.

What'* a lead foot Um yeah, well about that SSEi, the dealer it was at was one for someone who just came off a shipping crate from another continent. Not to mention the fact it was gone but not updated on Car soup. I"m gonna go check out that SSE this week then and i'm leaving hte parents at home. They are not helping one bit, i drove a 94 Olds Ciera (shittier interior then my 88 nova) , a 89 Seville (there'* no real parking brake disengage thing at all!) and a 94 Couger XR7, which was beat on by the previous owner) After driving the 3rd car, the caddy, i got in the drivers seat of my parents Camry we took there and waited till they came and drove home.

Go SSEi, just do it. 92 did not have an EGR valve and was kinda the "experiment" year for the new 3800 design (no offence intended Rat). The list goes on, get the 93 SSEi, plus you can always run midgrade fuel here and there if money is a tight issue.
