Default Bonneville SE gear ratio

i am almost positive i have a 2.84 gear ratio but i have been told that you could have a 3.06 in an SE, how do i find out which one i have, rpo codes? vin #

look in your trunk , pull up the mat over the spair tire, and look at the sticker on the carbored


FQ3 - ratio, transaxle, final drive 2.86
FR2 - ratio, transaxle, final drive 2.93
FW1 - electronic controlled ride and handling
FW2 - ratio, transaxle, final drive 3.06
FX3 - automatic ride & handling, electronic controlled
F17 - ratio, transaxle, final drive 2.84
F41 - Suspension system, front/rear, firm ride & handling
F79 - ratio, transaxle, final drive 2.97
F83 - ratio, transaxle, final drive 3.05
GX3 - ratio, transaxle, final drive 3.33

You are FAR more likely to have the 3.06 than the 2.84.

I think the 3.06 final drive came packaged with the H4U (SLE). If you have leather interior, automatic climate control, 5 spoke painted aluminum 16" wheels etc you probaly have H4U.

Was GX3 ever on a Bonneville? I remember I had the 3.33 on my Cutlass Supreme. Though it was also the 4T60E I didn't think GX3 was a Bonneville code.
