Default Any available guides on Recharching A/C?

I finally got my EXT. Temp sensor in but my a/c is blowing warm air. This car has been running on no a/c for some time so I assume it just needs to be recharged. Since its a 1994 I believe it uses 134a. At least thats what my manual says.

So my question is.. how easy is this? is it something I can do or should I take it to a mechanic?

If it is pretty easy, is there an available guide?

thanks so much!

I have a Haynes automotive HVAC book. More in depth than you need to just do a recharge.

Are you sure that you are not just getting HEATER air out of the dash? The air mix actuator is notorious for popping/cracking the gear and the door stays in the heater position. Feels like a blast furnace. Easy to mistake it for an AC problem. There are lots of posts here regarding this.

Well, I am getting warm air, but the other morning it was nice and cool outside. So I switched the a/c to ECON as I have electronic climate control and it blew semi cold air. That'* the only reason why I didn't think it was the actuator.

But to be on the safe side I'll double check the actuator sometime today. I have seen plenty of posts regarding this so instructions should be pretty easy to find

You guys are quick! haha thanks again!

If the compressor doesn't run or if it cycles on and off quickly, you're probably low on refrigerant as you suspect.
