Default Another Knock question..'cause I'm still a Newb...

First off, I searched but there'* a lot of Knock topics that you can't find in the search function because the abbreviation is used (KR). Unfortunately everytime I try to search for (KR) it won't return any results because "KR" isn't enough characters.

MY questions are as follows. How does eveyone measure thier knock retard? I see people tlaking about 3-4, or so many degrees, or whatever. How are they coming to these answers?

Second question, how do you get rid of knock when you've already installed a 180º t-stat, 1 range colder plugs, and new 8mm wires? I know the first answer is going to be "get a CAI on there", which is going to happen very soon once the pulley goes on. But I was just wondering why I get so much timing retard so often. It'* always when she'* warmed up, and can even be running around 180º sometimes when it occurs under WOT. Is anyone out there running like practically ZERO KR with mods?? It'* getting pretty annoying sometimes when I jump on it, and she pulls back timing. It'* almost like "why the hell do I have a supercharger to boost power when all it does is retard the timing?"

Sometimes I feel like such a NEWB... Compared to the amount of Will'* posts, I'm a SuperNewb still.

I guess the question would be how are YOU measuring KR and timing pull? Butt Dyno?

Those of us who state it as a digit measurement are using scan tools and going by the reading. I think your 95 is OBD-I and probably doesnt have the table or diagnostic data to give you that information so figuring out if you have KR is going to be a lot more difficult. Other than tapping your knock sensor and stocking a gauge on it I'm not sure how you will get an accurate reading.
