Thanks guys!!

Jim, on the 2000, there is no inset or outset ring. Just one row of numbers, and a lighted display that says either MPH or km/h. When you push the e/m button, the needle jumps to the appropriate number. :P It'* pretty cool.

As far as any performance mods go, I think I'm going to hold off for as long as I can (hopefully a little more than a week )
3.4, Intake, 180 Tstat and 1 range cooler plugs, that should make you smile for a bit.

Wrongo Jimbo-

When you push the E/M button in the 2000+ the needle actually changes to show your speed at KPh/Mph. If you are doing 60Mph and push the button, the KMPH light lights up on the speedo (while the MPH goes dark) and the needle now shows the correct speed. Odometer is the same way, just changes back and forth.

Not two rings, just one ring to control them all!

Sorry Wildman, I guess I was too slow....
very interesting

Yep, freaked my wife out when I buried the needle on her (140) (I had it in metric at the time).

I used to do that on my grandfathers old 88 Grand Prix with the digital speedo. I would take my grandmother to work and she always bitch at me about my speed so I decided to mess with her with the flick of a swtch. I remember the speed was a 70 kmh and she told me to slow down. I laughed at her and told her about it when said I was really doing 45mph.

Wellllllll, I'm going to wait on that until I save up some money to replace the tranny if it decides it doesn't like the mods. If it goes anytime soon, I'll be screwed!! :P
