The '04s are DEFINATELY slower than the '97-03'*. At Michigan Grudge Match 4 (the Michigan Grand Prix Club'* track meet), there were 2 Comp G'* there. Even with their spare tires removed and weight reduction here and there, I am pretty sure neither one broke into the 14'* all day. One was running 15.2'* all day long, and the other was running 15 flat. And I am not even sure that they were stock either. If it wasn't at least a GTP I would be suprised that the N/A hung with you, because it would be pretty tough to do. Do you remember if it had red brake calipers or not? Also, they don't say GT or GTP or anything on the side of the car. The only place they say what they are on them is on the trunklid at the bottom right corner. Then it will either say GT or GTP, if it is a Comp G it will say Competition Group below the GTP.

Just whatever you do, don't mess around with the GTP Comp G, you'll get your *** handed to you, that'* supercharged Series3
If your a Series II Supercharged, you shouldn't have much of a problem keeping up with one, ESPECIALLY if your modded and they aren't.

I have managed to pull out some wins against one or two older grand prix'*, non turbo of course, I'm not that stupid
Seeing that they made a very small amount of Turbo Grand Prixs, and that was only in '89 & '90, and half of them have been trashed already, I doubt you have ever seen or even had a chance to race a Turbo Grand Prix.

NA Series III? No such animal, Unique. The Series III is SC only.

Last I heard, Pontiac wasn't ready to release that until 05?

Did they pull up the schedule?

Ok... so I guess there wouldn't be anything on the side of the car.... and I never got to see his taillights/rear.... hehe

I was too close beside him, and it was way to dark to see if his brake calipers were red, even if I was able to see his rims.

My friend'* folks just recently bought an 04 GP... don't know what trim yet. Maybe I'll have to convience her to take the parents car out for a little "spin" and see what it can do.

IIRC we have discussed this before on here. As was already said, the Series III N/A is the L26 and from what I can tell and have heard, it is exactly the same as the Series II (even the power specs are the same) except for differences in the throttle body for the "drive-by-wire."

You really cant tell if the o4 GP'* are GTP'* unless you look at the trunk. There badging for different trim levels are there for GTP or GTP comp G'*. Nice one Merlin. I feel better now that theres 3 Bonny owners now passing up or even killing 04 GPs GTP

There is no way the GP was a NA. The 2004 GP Gt2 has a zero to sixty time of 8.1 sec and a quarter mile time of 16.2 sec@ 85mph. the curb weight is 3558lbs. The Gp GTP Comp G has a zero to sixty time of 6.6 sec and a quater of 15sec flat@ 93 mph. Curb weight 3669lbs. You have to remember new cars are hevier do to safety regulations. They have hevier frames to make them stronger in a crash. Anyways, good bet it was a Comp-G

Well, sounds to me like the one I ran across was NA (absolutely destroyed him) and the one we're discussing here must have been SC, considering the closer margin.

Personally, I think the new GP'* are ugly, as well as slow.
