AC, how cold should it get...

well here are the results...
outside temp aprox 85*
inside vehicle temp (at startup) 100*
i then stuck the digital thermometor in the vent (to the right of the steering column) and drove 20 min home from work.
outside temp was the same...
inside the vent was 51*
inside the vehicle was 74*
this was with the ecc on auto but temp down to 60* and the recirc button on.
i'm going to check my friends Malibu Maxx when he gets home... just want to see how it compairs. his car is brand new so i know the AC system works fine.

When I said 50-60 it'* because that'* what most will probably see. I have seen some cars even lower.
Sounds like on that 20 minute ride the temp was coming down..although the car was pretty steamy to begin with?

Anything you can do to "nurse" the system will get you comfortable faster. Consider rolling down all the windows when you first get in the car, while the a/c is running. This will get the really hot air out of the car, while the system begins to send cool air to the vents. It will significantly help.

I have never heard that... I have heard that it is normal to loose a few oz'* in a years time...
