Default about how much should it cost to install my muffler?

well i plan on calling some places tomorrow, i was wondering about how much you guys think it should cost...i shouldnt really need any extra tubing, it would be a couple inches at most if i did...im not getting any tips or anything like that, im keeping everything looking stock with no exhaust components visible...nice clean look...just more rumbly im sure theyll want to charge me quite a bit, especially since i didnt buy the muffler from them.

Our company car got a muffler replaced just this week. Price: $75.

I would guess around that price too. If it goes above $100 you might want to be more vigilent.

Oooooh I got ya!

How much did your new muffler cost? If you got time and patience, I would strongly suggest to try it installing yourself. You will learn more stuff about the car and earn valuable experience. Some members here might help you by giving instructions.

I've never done anything like this.

i got a Magnaflow MagnaPack Universal muffler for $67.44 from fle-online.com

i would love to install it myself but i have the following minor setbacks in doing so:

1. i dont have a welder
2. i suck hardcore at welding
3. i dont have clamps
4. i dont want to use clamps
5. all i have to cut the existing stuff with is a hacksaw
6. it would take me years to cut it with a hacksaw, not too mention i doubt i could cut a straight line to save my life.

see where im going with this? i would definetely love to install it myself, i planned on having a friend of mine help me, but i cant seem to get ahold of him, and who knows when his next day off is, yada yada...so i just wanna get it done and over with, im anxious to hear it and im tired of it sitting under my bed in its box....i have a reasonable idea of how to do it, i just dont have the tools and/or welding skills to do it.

I hear ya.

In that case, the ceiling could be $30 or $40.... $50 at most...

Buy a dremel or angle grinder, use cut off wheel. Or a drill with one.

Clamps are cheap.

But i would have it welded. More then 50 and you're being taken..
