I dunno if the price will differ because it'* a V6, but I've heard (not confirmed) $30-$50 to have the head machined on a Toyota (Supra/Cressida 3.0L) inline-six...

When you say "shaved", you DO mean having it machined, like something you'd do if the head gasket blew, right?

$6.50 a piece? Is there a location in Illinois? Do you have a phone number?

I blew the head gasket on my 95' SSEi w/sc (was told it was a fluke) my local mechanic who is always good to me sent the heads out.......the cost to shave them was $125.00. He thought that was high, so he called to confirm and the shop said that was the going rate. The entire job came in at $800.00 with some discounting by my mechanic (quoted me less and felt bad). The gaskets were also more expensive than he thought they would be. Shop around for the best price!!! Good luck.
