Default About to buy a 04 gxp.. need help/advice

I am about to buy a 2004 bonneville gxp with 50k miles on it. The dealership is asking 18,000. I only have 18,000 to spend including taxes. I havn't seen it yet however if its in good comdition what should I expect to pay? the dealership gotthis car shipped from jersey for me so Idk what to expect when it arrives.

EDIT:

How realiable are these cars? I see alot of TSB'* and I am not sure if my $ can be spent on a more reliable car. I love the way this car looks however.

Check the blue book value kbb.com and offer below that and see where it takes you, also check the Carfax www.carfax.com make sure its legit car that hasnt been in an accident or flood/fire. I just bought mine I paid 18600 w/o taxes (probly still a little much) 24000 miles 2004 with all options. I found out it was a lease vehicle that was pretty well maintained 1. becuase its a lease they have to take it in to get serviced and 2. it tells me on car fax wen they did service it. So its worth it I think its 19.99 for one vehicle and 29.99 for unlimited. If your searching get the unlimited just makes sense.

reliability isn't really an issue.. most of the TSB'* out are for minor things. are you buying from a GM dealer or another. drop us some more details and maybe have a GM service manager check the vin to see if it has been kept up.

Sorry yes I am buying from a dealer. I called up a dealer here on LI last week and said I wanted the gxp. They didn't have it but found one on some gm auction site for dealers. They got it shipped here. should be here tommorrow or thursday. Anyways they told me its gray with around 50k.. has just about all the options I believe. um they told me that it has 3 minor dings but could fix it for $150. anyways they said it was going for 18 and change but put a bid on it a lil bit lower. I am not sure if they will sell me the car for lower than what they paid for it... if in fact they paid what they said.

and I know most of the tsb'* are minor but its seems to be alot.. I had a 96 mark 8 before and I check out that models tsb'* and I found none... and yet the bonne had like 2 dozen.. I was always on the lincoln message boards, I had just found this board today and I've been looing through and I see alot of posts on problems.. Also I don;t think I can afford the extended warranty so what tsb'* or recalls will the dealer have to do? I;'ve read the foglamps and the intermediate shaft being replaced... but is that something that HAS to be done? anything else?

Also I'm on page 6-7 now but are there any aftermarket parts for this car? I had my mark8 pretty modded, I don't wanna mod this car so much.. But if I do get it I def want a chip and maybe an intake or something. I want to make this a low 14 second car.

Any help within the next few days that will help me decide to getthis car or not to get it. would be greatly appericated. If I do buy the gxp I will become a regular on here. I got so much info from the lincoln message boards, its insane I know the mark8 inside and out so well I could build 1 from just parts lying around. lol

Well truthfully if you are looking for a car to mod buy a 03 SSEi ... Walk away from the GXP if you want power and luxury Buy the GXP being there are so little numbers on the GXP power mods are few and far between..

If you are buying the car from GM it should fall under there optimum used car program everything should be addressed.... even the dings.

make sure you carfax the vin make sure it wasnt wrecked but if there is truth in ti coming from a GM auction then it is a leased car and it should have a regular service record.

there is one here running a 50 shot zex kit other then that low 14'* hmmmm

you could get a uni STS remote turbo, STS heads.. dont forget about the locked PCM.

now if you are looking at getting into the 150mph club with no mods this is the car.
1/4 pulls high 14'* mumbled here and there but solid 15'* all day long plus its a caddy

well I am buying from a dealship but I believe I'd have to purchase an additional extended warranty because the factory 1 is expired... and I'm sure it would add alot to the price which is probally over what I am willing to spend already.

I don't really like the other body style bonnevilles, I really like the way the gxp looks. Plus I want a v8, I am used to the ford 4.6. Granted the ford has alot more parts... I just wanna pretty much add a chip and an intake. Why can't we add a chip in this car? I'm sure someone has done it, theres got to be some sorta company.
I took my low 15 second lincoln mark 8 down to a high 13 second, 14 flat all day long car. I just wanna make this car somewhat quick.. I am not looking for a race car.

I know about the carfax, I just really want to walk away with this car if it is good for under 18,500. do you think it is possible? or am I just gonna get shot down? and I mean including taxes which will probally be around 1500
