Actually, you may be suprised. With a good driver those GT'* can run mid 15'* stock. With a good driver SSEi'* can run mid 15'* stock IIRC. Since the GT'* have ALL low-end power, take him from a roll or get a good launch and you should be able to beat him. If he is a bad driver you could smoke him though. I am not saying you can't beat him, because you can, but it isn't going to be a giant kill if he can drive.

Absolutely no problem. You have him by 35hp stock to stock, and by TONS of torque.
Yeah, and the Grand Prix has him by being 300+lbs lighter, being geared better, and being much easier to launch.

Hey Doubletalk2, do the GP'* have a different tranny/gear ratio than the Bonneville? Check your sources and let us know. I am interested in knowing what the differences are. I'm being serious here--not doubting, just wondering.

GPGTs have 3.29 gears. My old 98 GPGT went 15.5 with just a K&N cone, so depending on the car it could still be a decent race.

Yeah, thats right. GTP'* have 2.93 gears, GT'* have 3.29'*. The new Grand Prix GTP'* if you get the Comp G you get 3.29 gears with the GTP pretty cool stuff. Yes, but there are aftermarket trannies available from INTENSE. From 2.93'* all the way to 3.91'* I think. Stock GT'* have 3.29'* though. Same with any N/A 3800. And any L67 has 2.93'* except for the Comp G GTP'*.

One of my friends has a stock GT and his best is a 15.39. He runs 15.55s consisently.
It should be a good race.

And my 98 GTP has 3.29 gearing . And some PCM reprog.

It should be a fun race, I've seen some quick stock GT'* and some real turtles, I'd give it a go! Good luck!
