that is stock, that is how all of the 95-97 SE/SLE SC cars came from the factory

The only thing the 40th package gets you is C-pillar emblems and special floor mats. Other than that it has no added value, aside from us Bonneville nuts thinking more highly of them

And wow, I've never heard of the dual exhaust without the cutouts. WTF is the point? There'* no added performance (that I'm aware of anyway) and you don't even get the good looks!

if the car was SC'd it had the larger diameter exhaust piping 2.5" that came on the SC cars but since it was a SE Cladding and bumpers there was no room for the exhaust to exit...that is why GM used turned down tips

That makes a little more sense, thanks!! But don't some "regular" SE'* still have 2.5" piping to a regular single out muffler? I thought there was some randomness in the 2.25" vs 2.5" exhaust.

My 1995 SE/SLE SC had the dual turn down exhaust, but it was only 2.25" vs 2.5" on the SSE and SSEi'*.
Will checked his exhaust on his 1995 SLE SC when I brought this subject up and found his to be 2.25" also.

I saw a 1997 SE/SLE SC 40th Anniversary Edition on Ebay this past winter/spring. IIRC that was black also.

Default 40th SE SC

I just made a deal with the owner to buy this one, I'm going to pick it up tomorrow night.

It might be rare but it'* only worth something if you can keep it stock.
