Hmmm...all good points gentlemen. I'm a luxury kinda guy, going fast is nice, but I like to cruze in style. Thats what attracted me to the Bonneville in the first place

That'* what everyone sees too!!! I figured out a name for the rear of our cars... All the cars without spoilers are "bubble-butts", so the ones with spoilers must be "Spoiled Butts"... Yes it'* a technical term.

Alright guys, I can add a lot to this conversation, my previous ride before the 01 ssei was a 96 Aurora w/4.0 v8 Northstar.
Here are some pics, I do miss my Aurora some.

I miss the wood dash the most. The ride was great too. It had 99K when I traded her in for the ssei. Main differences the ssei had a spotier ride (more bumpy) than the Aurora which was such a highway cruiser, rode like a dream, 96mph felt like 55.

As for Aurora options, theres Autobaun option which ads 3.71 gears from sts which isn't publicized much, rpo code QQX, there is no hud but the DIC has more options than the ssei, The aurora had trip planers, Avg. vechile speed, trany fluid life, date. Plenty of gadgets in both cars though. I dig the boost gauge on the ssei, ( now redlines after my 3.4 went in this weekend) Thanks dbkt2.

Performance comparison. While the V8 Nortstar was nice, not as much tourqe as ssei, put passing power was better with 2 extra cyclinders. By the end of Aurora ownership I had RSM intake, home made heatshield, RSM ported 80mm Throttle Body, and a custom Corsa exhaust, I dyno'ed it after all the intake stuff and was roughly 270ish hp and 280ish TQ, estamated after exhaust to be 290ish HP 300TQ off of other peoples dynos with identical mods, stepping out of that into the SSEi, the Bonneville was SLOW. SSEi has great low end, but highway WOT was no where close to my moded 4.0 V8. I NEED that high end power.

Anyways, working on the ssei to excede my aurora power, shouldn't be a problem, the 3.8 sc market is 1000 times bigger than Northstar parts. There are supercharger kits available, about 5 grand though.

The downside to Northstar ownership is that just like any car, things break, and Caddy dealer service isn't cheap, neither are the parts. I'd recommend an Aurora to anybody, just don't be first year 95, worked out most problems, same goes for the 2nd gen aurora, caution of 01'*. I was an Aurora member on edmunds and GMforms. Those where the days.
Loving being a Pontiac man now. Fits me much better, everone madefun of me cause of that car, called it an old mans car, Im 22 now, I bought it at 19. The aggressive look of the SSEI is much better looking, but I do miss the white bubble though.

Here'* my Aurora cardomain page, http://www.cardomain.com/id/800wattaurora

Default yeah

In that first picture of your aroura... if you had your brights on what would I see in the corner beside that house?

I still think a 93-96 eldorado touring coupe (ETC) will be the next addition to my parking lot... Or a Grand national... same rarity around here... I cant find anything but trucks in northern alberta... But alteast that means my 92 trofeo is worth = $$,$$$.$$

But you only get the Real cool features that you dont even notice (like curb assisst) untill 97 with the eldo.. The interior improved to... If you love Killer lumbar 16way seats...
That link that I posted is a great car... Alot of them diddnt come with moonroof, heated leather (untill 97, then it was standerdized)

Ebay pictures (mix matched cars)

- that *** doesnt look to bad? eh..??

That would be Mom'* 99 Monte Z34, jade green on dark leather, full loaded. Dad was driving a 97 escort wagon, red then He recently bought an 01 Suzki Grand Vitara. My parents joke around how it'* sad that there son has a nicer car than they do. Still applies with the SSEi now.

Well, I'm hard pressed to decide right now. That V8 4.0L aluminum engine is mighty tempting...I don't really forsee getting a Bonneville SSEi for anywhere near 9200 CDN or about 6800 USD. At least 97-99 ish

Ugh....geez, my loyalties and logic are now dividing me, similar to what I want and reality....curses

But geez it pumps out 250 HP in an NA engine...damn....*sigh*

Decisions decisions :?

It'* soft, and a cammer. No torque (relative to a bonnie!) Cmon jim.... Doesn't the thuoght of a pulley and intake to make much more power then that Olds intice you. If you can find an aurora for that price, you can find an SSEi for that price.
