I wasn't sure on the torque on the 3.8, sorry about that. I still don't think it will be that easy to beat him. Yes, the Bonny could beat the Z26 if conditions were correct, but the Z26 could beat the Bonny too. I wouldn't be suprised if I heard either one of the cars won.

Hehe... Went to test this.. Friend has a 96 z26 Black and I raced him. I beat him by 2 1/2 car lengths. That car lundges of the start but it sluggish after that.

The 3.1 liter V6 is a pretty solid engine; I loved it in my GP. Off the line, I think it'* a bit better than the Bonny; I always got my head smacked against the rear seat in the GP, never in the Bonneville. However, as someone said, it'* a "lunge" good for short range, but fails after that.

I'd put money on the larger engine.

I agree (big surprise) with Lictalon. I loved that GP, and it wasn't sluggish. It moved if you put it to the floor. One time, long ago, we raced some friends in an Audi staion wagon (I believe...can't remember after all these years). We started out slow and just followed them down winding back roads at about 60-70, then we started to pass. We got next to them before it "kicked in", but when it did, daaaaamn; it was like we had been shot out of a slingshot! That was kind of a quirk for our particular car though; it may not be the same in another. I almost miss that feeling...the Bonny has more of a gradual acceleration.
