They discontinued the Bonne in Canada? Wow, that pretty much spells doom for the Bonne everywhere doesn't it? I hate to see that.

The GA (G6) is almost as big as the older GP'*. The GPs since 97 have been nearly as big as bonnies.

Looks like Pontiac is really stepping up their HP....

Too bad about the Bonnevilles in Canada... :(
I hope they at least last until 2007 for their 50th.

2007 will probably be the last year. Then they will retire it. Then reintroduce it like they are doing to the camaro. But have RWD...**** loads of power etc.

Thanks for the link Jason, I reconfirmed the findings and yes its true there will be a 5.3 with displacement on demand system.
General Motors Displacement on Demand® (DoD) engine control system has the ability, under certain light load driving conditions, to provide maximum fuel economy by deactivating four of the engines eight cylinders. The engine will normally operate on eight cylinders in V8 mode during, starting, idling, and medium or heavy throttle conditions. When commanded ON, the powertrain control module (PCM) will direct the DoD system and deactivate cylinders one and seven on the left bank and cylinders four and six on the right bank, forcing V4 mode.
This is for the grand prix only and the bonneville will still keep the northstar. The other thing I noted is they do list the Bonneville in the canadian line up for next year? Maybe they changed their minds and needed a bigger market to sell the cars?

I'm glad it'* a Gen III v8 and all, but it'* friggun FWD. PDad, can you confirm the 4t-65e tranny? I'm sorry but if it'* not the 4t-80 it'* gonna have issues majorly.

It has been "confirmed" that the Bonnie will be RWD in 08 or so when it'* redone.
