I am changing the coolaint elbow and have no clue how to start. Can anyone help me with this?

Now I'm faced with the heater hoses not coming off, does this mean replacing those as well due to forced removal and damaging?

I recommend going with the new Dorman Aluminum coolant elbow, it is an improvement over the old coolant elbows.
Right now I only see them available at rockauto as DORMAN Part # 47065hp 7.77 plus shipping.

Patience. Work a small flat blade screw driver under the end of the hose and work it free. Once you have off, examine and feel it for condition. If is all soft and gooey, replace it.

are these the ones that go from that big hunk of metal that has the tensioner on it, to the engine? i had no idea they made aluminum ones, i just replaced mine a year ago, and they still dribble alittle. its just moist, no drip but jeez its annoying

I have changed a couple of these and the once that are threaded are one of the worst once they could have put there. As far getting the hose off, heat up the hose with a hair dryer or a heat gun but down melt the hose and with a flathead screwdriver slowly work it off. Whe removing the old one make sure that you get all of the piecaes and reminince from the old one out before installing the new one. Installing them are simple its just getting them ready to install is the bich. After you get the hose off slowtry to remove the old one without breaking any of the plastic parts and o-rings from there. I lost an o ring in there and I needed to go fishing with a benthanger. Once everyting thing is out just pop the inlet that goes into the top and connect you heater hose. you may use a little but if oil to get it to slide on better or heat it up again and tighten the screw clamp down around the hose. Top of the Coolant and start it up and let it get up to temp and check for any leaks if their are no leaks, GOD JOB.
