Default 2002 GS300 Kill

Im not sure this counts for a kill but me and my father were coming back from school today, ( he was dirving me home) and my friend in his gs300 was able to pull beside us for a quick race. My dad didnt gun it off the luine so my friend jumped 1 car on my dad already. My dad nailed it at about 20 and got wheelspin with t/c on. He then reeled my friend in and got good speed on him, and passed him, up to my fathers door then let off the throttle. Does that count as a kill? I mean my dad could have easily pulled on his *** if he held it....My friend has intake mods with K&N.

(1998 Aurora with Autobahn my dads car)

I'd call it a kill. The Aurora may not beat everything off the line, but it can reel most in before the 1/4.

Pretty cool your Dad does this with you in the car

I had to ask him too, hehe. He knows my friend pretty well though also.......

I dont get how we were pulling back on him like that tho, since his car is a mid 7'*, and the Aurora is supposed to run about the same? My dads car has 112k on it, and m friend has 29k on his car. He also like I said had mods......its kinda weird.....

TC is bad for the launch. You have to do it 'manually' to not hurt your times. I don't remember if the Rora'* TC can be turned off? I think so? Is it applied braking or timing retard?

My dad drove a volkswagen beetle. I had to learn my racing skills on my own.

It can be disabled but theres no point since it gets wheelspin even with TC

My TC is applied braking. I can still get wheelspin, but not as much.

The TC has a cool lil button...I get a bit of wheel spin, but if I feel like showing off, I put in in third and TC off...

A GS300 is beatable...I dunno about at GS400...NICE car

GS300'* are peppy, but not as quick as a V8 Aurora, especially from off-line. Its more comparable to the 2nd gen V6 aurora. It shares the same 2JZ-GE engine as the Supra, IS300, and SC300 here stateside. Its engine can take boost, its just VERY rare to find a boosted GS

your dad'* aurora may only do a high 7 0-60, but alot of time is spent in the 0-20 on a stock autobahn aurora. ive got the same gearing in my aurora as your dad, and the 20-30mph kickdown is a pretty sweet spot in the powerband, ive chirped them a couple of times in the summer doing a 20-25mph kickdown (but i have a few mods) when its cold, its real easy to spin them from 20-25. not sure on a gs300'* powerband, but a aurora is kinda slow from the get go, but at speeds above 20mph it can hold its own. the exhaust w/highflow cat really helped my low end grunt
