Since this has not come up yet (in this thread anyway), somebody please tell me the appeal of having GIGANTIC wheels and tiny, thin little tires that barely fit into a wheelwell... ??? And to top it all off, it severely reduces ride comfort and performance! Maybe I'm just old school, but I think it seems pretty ridiculous. :?:

its all personal preference
its just the same as why do you make your car go fast
or why do import owners rice the cars
or why do 4x4 owners jack them up and put 44 inch boggers on them
same concept

I was thinking the exact same thing but this is an image over function thing. Same thing with neons. I'm getting old too. The older you get, the less image matters. I'll take comfort and performance any day.

You're not getting old. I'm in college and I would GREATLY prefer a car that looked bone stock, rode and handled comfortably, and had a beast of a motor under the hood. I'm all about the sleepers!

i'm 14, don't even have my license, and I agree with big news completly! My bonnie is a perfect match, although I am always up for a bigger engine, and more speed. But mine looks bone stock, and always will, unless you get up close, in the interior, or look under the hood. Which is what I want. Damn good thing my paint = crap, because I think that makes her look all the more slower.. but we all know I go faster.. less clearcoat, means I weigh less, less weight, lower E.T'*

Maby this will help with the debate...this is a new FWD Monte Carlo on 22s...I have no idea what the tire size is but its got like no friggin sidewall....but the new Montes use the same factory tire size as the Bonnes...so assuming all the suspension peices are all pretty close and the wheel wells are pretty close one would assume that you could do 22s...however the MASSIVE unsprung weight will not only make the car seem seconds slower in every way, but not only the EXTREMELY short side wall but also that weight again will make for the most logwaggonish ride concievable...ever been in a Corvette with chopped springs? Also your struts will wear out twice as fast youre springs will start to sag after taking the pounding and every peice of trim on your car will likely come loose because of the constant vibration...IF you are still interested in 22s ill be glad to sell um to ya... PM me yer phone number and I can look up the numbers for ya at work sometime (I manage a Sears Auto Center and would love to sell some SUPER EXPENSIVE wheels)
