Keep in mind that with low-profile tires, it'* VERY easy to curb the crap out of your rims. Normal tires are a bit wider than the rim and protect it if you scrape the curb.
Low-profiles don't protect your rim at all, and a light brush on a curb can DESTROY an expensive aftermarket rim. Not to mention that potholes can smash a 22" with low profiles like a watermelon. I've 22" rims SHATTER when they hit a particularly impressive pothole because the tire collapses and the rim itself smashes into the side of the pothole.
Think of it from a safety angle.
You'll also lose a LOT of braking power and have to work your brakes harder to stop the car, and the brakes on Bonnies are undersized already. Also, big wheels reduce the effectiveness of antilock brakes.

oh yeah and imagine losing about 20 horsepower....cause thats about the equivilant of what it will feel like trying to turn all that extra weight...not to mention the weight will be further out toward the outer edges and not in toward the center...when you see an ice skater spinning they bring all there weight (arms) to the center of there body to make them spin faster, so you can see they are not adding any spin just spinning that much easier cause the weight is closer to the middle....now take yer 17s weighing maby 30 lbs each (assuming chrome) and then add 20 lbs for a total of 50 lbs each (about what most chrome 22s weigh) and then further more make a greater percentage of the weight further from the center...and youve got a slow azz car. That meens you would have to drop in an L67 just to make it as fast as factory again......do you really want to get spanked by EVERY Civic?

you made it sound like i would run a 20.0 1/4 mile time
yea series one bonnevilles are capable of a low 16 conditions have to be right with the car and track so i'd say 16.5 is the average
and mind you i got that time in the dead heat of summer

well im not sure what the figure is for multiplying HP loss by 1/4 times (help here) but im pretty sure a full second or even half a second giving yer conditions (which wouldnt have as much effect thatn a SC car) you have lost some SERIOUS usable HP....but ya know going fast isnt everyones thing.....but it is mine!
