look guys beleive it or not i have a 99 crown vic p.i and it not even faster than the cougar i have. When you say they are built to last, thats not a lie but with all cars the problems come with them and to get off how these cars look and to get back to the subject Bonnie wins!

Obviously on a forum like this there is going to be some bias.
Stock for stock, someone needs to go out to the track with both cars and race.
For modifications, the Mercury has the edge. The Ford 4.6 is a potent engine, with a heavy aftermarket. The GXP as of now has nearly nothing when it comes to aftermarket.

I can assure you that those stats are conservative when listing the 0-60. I wouldn't be surprised if it was as low as 6.8.
I will say that anything in the 7'* for a v8 under 4000lbs I find mildly disapointing. But to each their own.
