And for building the site... I have been thinking of getting my own domain for some time now. This would be just the kick in the a$$ I need to actually go do it.
I have spent the last 4+ years working as a PC tech. I have also done some web programming on the side (for fun, not for cash) and I have a good understanding of HTML, great at flash, and a little bit of a few other web tools and formats. If your going to be going to school for stuff like this we could hook up and build it between us. What do you think?

I know that MN Club GP members have their own site, their recent meet here in Mankato on June 7 had about 50 some cars. Whereas the idea for MNBC to have it'* own site is a good idea, I don't feel we have enough members to make it. How many steady BC members do we have in MN?

1) we do have about 10+ active MN members that I've seen.
2) It will be easier to setup and get things running with a smaller group than if we waited untiil there were say 200 members trying to join in right away. Helps get the bugs out.
3) There has been alot of talk lately about getting meets together, wanting to post pics of the big and little meets that have happened, and a few comments about making a dedicated section for MN since it has had a recent "boom" (or so it seems) in MN memberships.
4) I have been looking for a reason to get a domain for a while. This "fits the bill". I need some good web hosting space to play with.
Hmm, seems that I should read the forums thoroughly before replying to email (you know who you are).
Anyhow...
At this point, a "Minnesota" forum will not be made in the primary forum. If Minnesota gets its own forum, then every other state will want their own too, leading to forum bloat.
Yup, the Minnesota ClubGP chapter has their own web site. In fact, I'm good friends with Eric Criswell, who is heavily involved in the MN Grand Prix scene. The most recent MNCGP meet was well-attended, as you can see in the photo.
If you want something like www.minnesota.bonnevilleclub.com to point to an external site, I can set that up. I think ClubGP did (still does?) something like that for the individual chapters.
In response to the cost question: if you're quoting domain name costs, you can do MUCH better. If you're quoting server costs, you can probably still do better. My costs are skewed because I run this site on a dedicated server instead of using a shared hosting service. I won't say exactly how much it costs, but it'* about an order of magnitude higher.

well just a bit of FYI for you all, if you want a .com domain name, then I can get you one for about 8-9$ a year, hosting is about 15$ a month or less and varies in disk space and bandwidth.
It'* cheap and it works.

I've got the time, and the resources (Broadband at home and school) to work on this, or help moderate or whatever. I might be willing to help a little with the costs etc too, but i cannot host anything, my school blocks it and i would need to use a different port and my computer isn't on 100% of the time. I can also make some kick *** logos and photos on Photoshop
