is there a way to save the posts that are not looked at, close off, come back, and have them be there?

There is not, unfortunately. That information is stored in a cookie that expires when you close your browser. Being that it'* stored on your PC, you and your proposed saved unread posts are at the mercy of Bill Gates.

it sucks logging in at work.. having 10 min to look at everything.. and then having to close all those wonderful stories

Same thing for me early in the morning. I make a habit usually of not reading my PM'* until later just to keep that reminder going for myself.

Is there a loophole? Can you find the cookie and copy it elsewhere before you close the browser?
