Default Gatherings Forum Add-On? and Possibly new Forum?

Well.. after going through the Gatherings forum a few times.. I find it hard to keep track of the people that'* in my area ( let alone some other areas ). So I was wondering if we can somehow open a database or some sort in Gatherings that always give a listing of members that are in their area ( i.e. Ontario / Great Lakes Area / and so on ) so it makes it easier if we ever have a gathering in summer not to accidently forget to email/pm people in our area. Just a thought.
What about a new forum section that allows new members to introduce themselves to our club? I guess that really isn't a biggy since it could be done probalby in the lounge anyways.. just a few thought... ( and I don't get thoughts too often.. ha ha ha )

Heh heh...I like the idea of a newbie forum section. Kinda like a Bonnevilleclub.com initiation forum....

I think what will happen is; as our forum grows (which clearly it is growing beyond intial expectation!!) It will be nice to be more organized to manage the numbers of members. I suppose its more of a house-keeping thing.

Drifter? Are you suggesting dividing up the Gatherings section into sub-sections?

For example, dividing the members and their locations geographically?. I think that would be a good idea...

Jeff? Admins? Moderators? What do you think?

BTW...great forum we have here. Keep up the great work!!!

yea.. but maybe even sticky notes topic that are locked so no posting can go into it and clutter it up.. but will have a listing of all members within their area they have signed up for. Each having it'* own sticky to make it simpler.. however if they can make it where it always stay on top of the posts ( like the polls ) than bonus.... Here'* a quick listing of Ontario Chapter Bonneville Club members so far that I know of( not in any order as you can tell )..

Anybody for dividing up the Gatherings into subsections?

A West, East, Midwest, South and North/Canada? The Canucks would have to figure out if they were in the North/Canada or West (seems we have either Ontario or BC, and nothing else up there).

I dunno. Hard to decide where to draw the line. We could draw a line for East/West right between my house and Jseabert'*!

We need to find some logical way to divide it up. What we REALLY need is for someone to pin up a big NA map (sorry to our Russian friends) and put pins where each member lives, or plot on a pc, then try to find some logical division lines. Mountain ranges, rivers, etc, since most don't live in the mountains or in the rivers!

Thoughts?

Ok, check it out and see how I did. We can make adjustments as necessary! We will NOT have every State and Province listed, so don't even try. Our poor dialup members would tar and feather me.

I heard you go BOTH ways!

Ok, that was mean. Your pick. I'll add it in to whichever! But actually, I think you'd fit more into the midwest us and canada. If anyone wants to add something or move something, let me know!

Hey Will.. great job.. but however.. another thing I'd like to add.. is there anyway you can add stickies on the top of each forum that can be only edited by admin/moderator ( hint hint.... I"d be more then gladly take care of that area if need be ) that will allow all the people listed in each topics ( area ) to be listed ( only if they also added their names in the gatherings in which would grant their wants in participating in a Chapter meet of their area ) with a shortcut to PM or email them through their profiles.. that way when there disgnated area wants to have a meet this spring summer.. they won't forget anyone posted. I'd be more than gladly help go through each area of gatherings to get their names if that helps and then you guys can post it as a sticky or something. Yea I know I'm being a Bi$h about it.. but spring summer is coming.. and I"m sure a few of us want to get a gathering ASAP so we can hunt for Rice in a herd / pack hee hee.. wouldn't that scare some Rice when a bunch of Bonnies ( not just one ) just handed them their a$$ hee hee... then they have no excuse of saying.. ( he/She must've been modded ) lol

I'll talk this over with Hector, Jr, and Tim. We'll see what we can come up with.
