The fitting I chose is rated for 6000psi @ 70°F, or 100psi @ 250-400°F. Nosedrive temps from the WCBF crew (thanks to the Bullet) peaked at 160°F after each run on a 100°+ day. So a 200° rating would be safe (considering your fitting or valve, if you choose to do this, would be somewhat in the moving airstream).
Centerpunch your start hole:
Drill a pilot hole:
Notice how it will overlap the ridge? And pick up the 'low spot'?
Drill with a letter "R" drill:
I missed by a tidbit, but it'll all work out in a minute or two:
Tap with a 1/8-27 (NPT) tap:
Test fit:
These 3 pics show how I shaped a 'cup' or 'pickup channel' to make sure it fully drains:
The angle you want for an M62 to be able to gain easy access. Roughly 'aimed' at the end of the ND shaft:
Seal appropriately. I'm using the red goop. We're all familiar with that stuff.

Due to sexually-explicit PM'*, let me explain that this APPENDAGE will not be very visible under the Nosedrive. The brass 45° fitting won't be visible at all. This will disconnect with no tools, but won't leak.
Easy to reach, too. And not in the belt path should I lose a belt.

At least we know your car is a male...
Seriously..good write up..great pics. Were you able to pick up the er..appendage locally or is this a buy online part for those of us that wish to do the same and ensure the gender of our cars

You mounted a johnson to your blower so you could change your oil more often?

It'* a BOY!!!!!!!!!!!! Pass out the cigars, Bill.
So, if you were to "circumcise" the appendage, the brass fitting won't leak? Did I read that right? It'* not just a standard elbow?

FYI, with 1/8NPT threads, you can use any kind of valve, plug, or any other type of device to drain. And they can interchange any time you want to drain the oil.

This one is getting a little out of hand. Let'* stick to the topic, considering there seems to be alot of interest in this idea.
John, NPT fittings won't leak. They're a tapered thread, and the SC nosedrive isn't under pressure. Use the right sealant, and you're good to go. The finished product will look a bit different, and I might put in some type of manual valve instead at a later date. I have 2 other nosedrives to do this to, and I can interchanged hardware whenever I want.
