It appears (at least at first glance for the M62) that'* it'* VERY possible and beneficial to add a drain plug/valve to the bottom of the nosedrive. The most CONVENIENT spot to do it just happens to be the easiest as well.

As soon as my spare is clean (working on it right now) I'll post some pics of the location and the preferred components.

What got me thinking about this is my bud at work, Greyhare. The one with the Neuspeed Eaton M45 kit on his 1.8 Jetta.

Because his M45 is rotated 90° behind his ONE AND ONLY head (sorry, had to say that), the plug just happens to be NEAR the bottom. This prevents a COMPLETE drain, and absolutely prevents filling. When he borrowed a bottle of oil, we talked about the idea of adding another port for him at the 'top'. This would be at the BACK on one of our M62 or M90 blowers.

Then I started thinking about a DRAIN on ours.

I have a few superchargers here. One I'm porting (again) and rebuilding (again) for the Zilla, and my spare nosedrive will be modified very soon for a drain. The spare will go on the SLEeper when I do the coupler (have it, the oil, and all the gaskets). Then I'll modify that one.

So both cars will have drains soon, and my spare ND as well. Nosedrive is drying, but I'll have pics up tonight or tomorrow of the location I have in mind. Then we can get someone with a spare M90 ND to take a good look at that as well.

how ya plan on doing it, just drill and tap and find a plug??

I have 2 new SC plugs. I just need to measure the OEM thread and pitch.

But I'm seriously considering a ball-valve drain instead.

This is an awesome idea, Bill brought it up last night on the phone, i instantly though, well, duh! Why hasnt anyone said this before, because, lets face it, suckign that oil out is messy as hell, well for me anyway, cause im usually doing it makeshift like.

As anal as you are, it wouldn't surprise me if you connect up a recirculating cooling system for the SC oil now that you have an inlet and outlet connection.

It crossed my mind. As did a debris trap. Not necessarily a filter, but at least a trap.

Looking at the M90...
