Default SUPERCHARGER REBUILD-QUESTION

I have a 1993 SSEI with 180,000 and I noticed a supercharger noise so I took it apart and found the rotor shaft warn and rotors rubbing the bottom of case I put new brg. in the back of case and that helped for a while but now it is back to the same problem. I bought a 94 supercharger for parts wanting to make one good one from the two. the 94 has teflon rotors and I am told the throttle body mount is different. Does any one know if the 94 rotors will work in the 93 or could the 93 throttle body be made to work on the 94 Supercharger? also if anyone wants to change the back brg. I found an easy way to get them out (they are in a blind hole) there is a air relief hole in the bottom of case you can see from the bottom. Drill and tap this out to accept a grease zerk and then use a grease gun to pump the brg. out. thanks for any information. Chris

We're actually getting ready to post a bunch of info on this rebuild. I'll be tearing mine down next weekend for this purpose. The TB on the 94 was a different size and mount than the 93. You can use the 94 TB in your car with the 94 SC, and this is strongly advised. GM no longer carries the 92/93 TB, but does still support the 94/95. You'll need to get that TB.

As far as your rotors wearing on the inside of the housing, that'* about the worst thing that can happen to an Eaton. The fact that it did it again after replacing the bearings tells me there'* slop in the holes the bearings go into, or wear on the end of your rotor shafts. This is the point I'd buy a whole new supercharger. Expensive, yes, but there may not be a way around this. Are you sure it'* not the nosedrive coupler making the noise? That'* a $30 part from zzperformance.

For Superchargers and nosedrives, go to the links section at the top of the page and click on Canadian Supercharger. They have the best prices around. Tell them Alan Ralston (Deathrat) sent you from the Bonneville Club, and they might give you a discount. I can't remember for sure how that works. Rat?

Normally the nosedrive coupler is the first thing to go. The rotor section of your SC should outlast the drivetrain, but there are always exceptions.

My advice is to try to get the 94 TB and use the 94 Supercharger. Just do a typical oil change and coupler change on the 94. It'* cheaper than a nosedrive, and far cheaper than a rebuilt SC.

The deal was for the old Bonneville Intensity Site which is now disolved. Therefore, actually I'm in the process of setting up a BETTER DEAL with Brian @ Canadian SuperChargers as I speak! He has told me that about 5 members from here & Bonneville Attitude have bought products from him already! I'm also in the process of manufacturing my OWN "pulley puller" as the ones available from sources already are way over priced! Mine will be in around the $120 CDN price instead of the $140 USD price!
As for Aftermarket Brngs/seals.....here!
Supercharger brng/seal: 1 - 6204.C3 Brng; 1 - 6203.C3 Brng, 1 - 7965 CR Seal
As for other info on SC'* you can contact me directly below at my email address.

Your situation is a bit unique, usually the noise comes from the bearings or the coupler in the nose cone. Have you ruled out nose cone bearing or coupler noise? Can you feel any play in the rotors with the supercharger off that can be isolated to either the nosecone side, or the back side? The rotors are designed to be really tight in there so that air can't get around them when spinning.

Here is a link to an M90 teardown, which is similar to yours but not exactly the same.

Possibly Magnuson or Canadian Superchargers could answer questions about interchanging the parts.

Default SUPERCHARGER REBUILD-QUESTION

Yes the rotor shaft looks to be about 004 -005 less than standard that is why I want to use the 94 rotors they look like new. There may be some wear in the old coupler, but I can see wear marks in the back housing. The 94 looks to be in great shape except the coupler shows to be warn a few thousands. anyone know where to get a 94 throttle body except GM . The people I talked to said they normaly wear the rotor shaft after 120,000 miles

You'll have to get the TB at a wrecker. You'll want to. GM wants about 700 bucks for it. I priced these out some time ago. I recall wreckers wanted about 300 for the 94/95 TB.

You might want to conact canadian supercharger and see if you can get the shafts for yours. It'll be much cheaper. The coupler can be purchased at www.zzperformance.com for about 30 bucks.

Well, TB'* don't generally go BAD unless you wreck. Everything on or in it can be fixed/repaired, replaced. You can adapt a 94/95 TB, but with complications. Don't fret over it. It won't go 'bad' on you.

Well ...I was actually thinking of buying a new one to have re-machined...then I would still have stocker...just in case..

So...buying a used one is probably the best choice $$??

A used one is the ONLY option. The new ones are all gone. But I'd buy a used one to port anyway. Half the cost.
