I was looking on the Pulley Boys web site and i e-mailed them with some questions. I have a 1994 ssei so my pulley is already bigger than the ones on the 1992 ssei. Im only looking for about a 10-15hp gain from a puley, im scared to go higher becasue i don't want to sacrifice tranny reliability. If i put on a pulley that will give me about 10-15 hp will this reduce my fuel economy a lot? Also will it reduce the logetivitly of the supercharger, not that this is a big deal to me because i can rebuild it. And i guess a smaller pulley will mean i have to run premium all the time. I do run mid grade gas sometimes, but only when my foot isn't heavy. I never give stomp on it or anything unless there is premium. And i have never had knock so far. To the members who put on differant pulleys, what kind of differances did you notice in the car? Thanks.

I don't think you can get a pulley that will give you that little, unless you have one custom made. The typical size for yours is the 92/93 stock size. 2.5". Your fuel economy won't suffer with it unless you lead-foot it everywhere. The Supercharger will outlive your entire drivetrain if properly cared for. However, there are exceptions to this rule (I have yet to see a 'true' failure of a SC on any car here).

Don't ever run mid-grade gas. This is worse for your engine than a smaller pulley would be.

Do you know what the stock diameter of the 1994 ssei is? And how much power will i gain if i goto a 2.5 pulley from a 1992 ssei. I noticed that pulley boys sells a 2.6in pulley for the m62 as well as a 2.7, does anyone know what type of power is expected from these diameters.

94-95 is a 2.8-9 if i believe correctly.

Going to a 2.5 should gain you somewhere in the neighborhood of 30hp. But if you're worried about your trans, don't even go 2.7. Stay away from pulleys altogether.

Well it'* not that im worried about my transmission failing, i was just wondering if putting a pulley would put too much strain on it? My car is a 1994 ssei and it only has about 57,000 miles on it. So im not worried that the transmission is to old or anything.

when I swapped from the 93 tb &sc to the 95 series 1 sc& tb I left the larger pulley on and boost was about half (5-6lbs) of what it was with the 93 sc &57mm tb. I put the smaller pully from the 93 sc to get back to 10lbs. I was hoping I would have gained alittle more from the swap but didnt really, not a differance worth the cost of the new SC and 70mm tb. I am wanting a 2.2 from pulley boys.

The 94/95 SC doesn't produce more boost than the 92/93. It produces the SAME boost, at a lower SC rpm. It doesn't have to spin as fast to do it.

Exactly my point will, I had to put the smaller 93 pulley back on to get the same amount of boost as was befor swap.

With a smaller pulley you'll have to get a larger tensioner pulley as well to take up the slack.
