Default SC swap.... hesitation?

So i bought a used SC that was supposedly off a 94 that i later concluded must have been off a 92/ 93 as the pulley is 2.5" and it also has a smaller throttle body than that on my 95... installed it with the pulley it came with and it has been driving great except for one thing. When you take off from a stand still, if you give it too much throttle it hesitates for a split second, almost sputtering and then takes off fine with smooth acceleration and continues to drive and shift properly no matter how hard i accelerate. I put the 2.8" pulley onto the SC thinking this might be the problem but it made no difference so subsequently re-installed the 2.5" which it came with. I had the tranny rebuilt before i did the swap however this issue didn't arise until i swapped out the SC. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what this could be? Once again, thanks in advance to all.
