Default SC pulley swap

I have recently purchased a 2000 Bonneville SSEi. I have been toying around with the idea of changing to a smaller diameter SC pulley to increase boost. I see some of the members have done that. I was just wondering if there is a certain size to go to, and if anything else needs to be changed? Also, where is a good source for aftermarket performance parts for the SSEi? Thanks for any help

3.4 is prolly the size you want to go to without doing any other mods. If you go smaller you may get some KR which will negate the performance of the smaller pulley. Once you do more mods, like rockers, cam, etc...you can go to a smaller pulley. As for places check out the links at the top of the screen but some of them are:

www.intense-racing.com
www.3800performance.com
www.domesticperformance.com

There are more in the links...

How much difference does is make when you change over to a 3.4" pulley? Also, is there a particular air intake that works well to replace the factory air box? Thanks.

What mods are you planning to do to your car other than a pulley? Either a 3.4 or 3.5 pulley is the pulley size you want. A 3.4" is way more readily available and is the most popular size and will really wake your car up, but if you don't plan on doing any other mods at all you want to go with a 3.5" because for an otherwise completely stock engine it will make more power. A 3.4" pulley will gain about 25hp and 50lb.ft., assuming you have other appropriate mods to run it (air intake, run high octane 93 or higher gas, etc...) and I am not exagerating the least bit on that power number either, and a 3.5 will give gains around 20hp and 40-45lb.ft without doing anything else running 91+ octane gas. It will really wake up your car and you will definately feel the difference.

As for air intakes, do a search on here for them. There have been plenty of discussions on airboxes and you should be able to find what you want from those.

Hope that helps.

Definitly get a 3.4, if you plan on doing other mods later like headers, rockers, cam, intercooler, ect. Get a modular pulley system like me. You just have to swap pulleys once and now you will have a hub so you can change pulley sizes later with an allen key. dbkt2 did mine and it was FUN!!! do a search here for taylor'* pulley swap. Anyways the gain is 25hp and 50 Tq roughly. Car comes alive afterwards and redlines that 10psi boost gauge afterwards. I also have a Thrasher CAI for a GTP and cut it to fit. pretty easy to do. Go for it. Check out my site below

Check out the 'return of ADTR' thread in the Vendor'* forum. You'll find a pretty sweet intake there.

I'll have pics posted of that intake with the new CAI tomorrow.

David, I'd do the 180 thermostat and extra tranny cooler first. Then the pulley. Your intake and exhaust are ready for it. It'll probably gain you 2psi of boost, or about 20 hp. I belive torque will improve better than 25 ft/lbs, and it'll be mostly low-end. Your exhaust took care of the high end rpms, so this is a good next mod. Get that bottom end back up there.

Default That looks awesome.

Sweet. I like the detail will. I posted this question in another area, but does anyone know where to get a copy of the SSEi Supercharged graphic like that one? I have a friend who does custom vinyl that will cut me one out if I can find the graphic for him. LMK> Thanks.
